Join us for a celebration of midwifery!
This meeting falls during midwifery week!
Our speaker Ashley Darcey Mahoney will be giving a talk on the development and introduction of a language nutrition program called ‘Talk with Me Baby’.
There is a big national push to “bridge the word gap”, which refers to a 30-million word gap in the number of words children hear in the first three years of their life between middle-high income families and low income families. Much research shows that this gap contributes to the educational disparities in our country.
Talk With Me Baby is an organization that is trying to bridge this word gap and promote child development and future success by training nurses to educate parents the importance of talking with their babies. The purpose of this meeting is to give an overview of Talk With Me Baby and discuss strategies for implementing this campaign and get feedback from members of the healthcare workforce.
